Final Fantasy 16 PC Version Could be Announced Soon as More Evidence Emerges
2024-08-12
Almost a year has passed since the official announcement of Final Fantasy 16's development for PC, and fans are still eager to hear from Square Enix regarding its launch date. However, recent developments suggest that updates might be on the horizon.
A user on Reddit highlighted a new revelation shared by @Wario64 on Twitter: Nvidia's latest Game Ready & Studio Driver 560.81 features an unnoticed reference to Final Fantasy 16. While the official release notes do not mention it, there is a driver profile specifically for the PC version of the beloved action game.
This intriguing detail could indicate that a PC edition of the game is nearing release, contradicting what Square Enix's lack of communication might imply.
Back in March, Naoki Yoshida, the producer, mentioned that the PC adaptation of Final Fantasy 16 was progressing well, reaching the "final optimization stages." He also revealed plans for a demo to be available for players before the official release. When it eventually arrives, the PC version will come with both expansions, Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide.
Additionally, it seems that following the PC launch, there may be potential for Final Fantasy 16 to also appear on Xbox Series X/S, based on earlier remarks made by its developers.
