Transformative Shift for IEM Sydney: CS: GO 2 Becomes Official Game

With the launch of Counter-Strike 2, effectively replacing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, many are curious about its impact on the competitive gaming scene. Notably, the shift to the new game promises to significantly affect upcoming tournaments. 

This includes the imminent IEM Sydney, scheduled for October 16-22, which will be hosted on CS2. Other tournaments set to be played on the new platform include ESL Challenger Jonkoping, ESL Challenger Atlanta, IEM Katowice 2024, and IEM China 2024. It's expected that subsequent tournaments will also use Counter-Strike 2. This ensures the audience won't have to hold on until the PGL Copenhagen Major to witness competitive gameplay on the new version.
